Call Jack Lawrence at MSS (Motor Sports Service) in Jamestown NY. They offer some of the best performance parts available for the older Saabs and everything is designed specifically for Saabs. The number is: 716-665-4200
They should have a simple catalog available with specs and prices. The prices are reasonable. i had their 3800 - 7200 rpm cam with their street headers and exhaust in my 75 99 and it was pretty zippy. That would be a good cam for a rally car. You will want the double valve springs to go with it.

I am the 73%
I'm having problems sorting through those specs, seems a lot of specs are missing? The one advantage to MSS is you can call up and talk to a human and know that what you are getting will work...
I think jordan has a spec sheet from his MSS cam though which sounds like the same one seth had, maybe he can post up an image of it.
edit: never mind I found it:

I think the one Seth is talking about is more 'street' and less race. Geoff has the one I have though I think. My understanding of the stock cams is that the turbo cams give a better low -mid range for turbo spool up, off boost power...whilst the NA cams are made more for mid-upper range. I'd think you would want a similar philosophy in reworked cams.
If only we had a short ratio gearbox to really keep the engine really rung out....

You're right, not getting a lot of good answers from Crane, and for 2-300 bucks, I'd rather know what I have.

bumpstick baby.
Just ordered:
275090 street cam 3800-7800 range
dual valve springs
upper/lower retainers
compensating shims
lightened flywheel
from Jack.
Still haven't heard back from the machine shop on the short block's condition. But..just won a newly rebuilt B head on ebay for $89 shipped, so if my head(s) are junk, I've got another to play with.

Mostly just "exhaust only for porting...don't worry about valves with the street/rally engine..."
From my experience..you can tell the exhaust ports need work just by looking at them and the exhaust manifold/header that they bolt too..port matching, as well as enlarging the transition/90-degree turn out of the combustion chamber should do a lion's share of the work.
