Hello Green! That is one awesome, unmolested example! My 99t had +300k when the previous owner blew it to bits after overheating... B-motor for the win!
You guys take good care of that old 900, you hear? :yay:

It don't need taken care of! It never breaks!

The FIAMM air horn stopped working for a while.... I sprayed some WD-40 into the little vane pump chamber.... and now they work again....

A friend of my parents bought one of those new and had it when I was younger. I think he got rid of it right before I got my license. I always thought it was a neat car. (he now has a '99 9-3)

Wow that's great!
I've been searching all over the web for one of these. I have almost the exact same one. This one has more logos and trim than mine...but it's the closest one to mine I've seen!

Green pride! =P

Whoa, really early car there.

This one is at my shop now. It's fairly awesome.

Whoa- flashback. As I mentioned over in Drew's project thread, my very first car was a blue 79 EMS. Here's it's twin, 24 years later!

I was gonna ask you if that one was yours or if you were doing some work to it, or what?

I always assumed the fuse-box position on my friend's 1981 900 Turbo was due to the H-motor, but looks like it is a 900 thing instead (my 1979 99 has it on the passenger side).
Quite a bit more fuses too, guess that's 900 luxury :P
Totally different gauges as well. I guess rather than model-year uniformity, it was out-with-the-old, in with the 900.

awesome color though .. so deliciously 70's.

The car actually does not have the paint code plaque on the left side inner fender like where I'm used to seeing it.

Anyone else with a '79 900 know if the paint code plate is in a different spot?

Some 900s had another paint code sticker under the trunk floor.

My 1980 900 does not have a paint code anywhere. But... I do have a local import auto paint store with records that go way back. This is a cell phone pic of the 1980 Saab paint codes catalogue. Looks like maybe Acacia Green Metallic? Right on the bottom next to my Aquamarine Blue Metallic.

Very possible, I can't see much detail on the Jade Green, they look very similar, but mine is definitely metallic.

It's Acacia Green, a common color on early C900Ts (and '79 and '80 99 turbos, want!).

I've always thought the Marble White was a nice color when fresh and shiny. I almost bought a 5dr900 turbo with that color but got a 2dr 99 in Chamotte beige instead (which looks nothing like the Chamotte in the color chart above...)
