This thread is worthless without burnout videos.

Sounds and looks awesome. No LSD in the rearend? Too bad about the one-wheel burnout.

No, definetly need a lsd rear end, which is planned as one of the winter updates. Still having some trouble with the speedo-signal, will look into that too :-)

Re: '74 X7 Turbo rwd -wintertime!
Busy winter. Good to see you are still at it. It takes some good motivation to get out to the cold shop and be productive.
As for the suspension pickup shown above I'm going to do some arm chair engineering. I would box the ends and/ or add some drag gussets to that square section of tubing. Assuming most of the load goes forward and aft, the square can flex into a trapezoid shape temperately or permanently.
I'm guessing the OEM had the four pickups in one giant shear plane utilizing the body's floor pan.
Keep on rocking on your project.

Awesome, looking forward to seeing this car again this year! Maybe we'll bump into each other again at the Malmö returbilen...

It sure does, a couple of layers of warm clothes is standard. I've been thinking of reinforcing that part as well, by welding two triangles of metal against the floor in front of the square section. Just haven't got the motivation of doing it yet. First things up are two catchers for the propshaft...squaab99t wrote:Busy winter. Good to see you are still at it.
