INA Hydraulic cam followers (tappets) have a plunger valve that needs to be removed to properly clean the inner well of the assembly. Pliers are not a great option as they can burr the plunger and it is hard to get a good grip. I tried the suggested compressed air or magnet, but they did not work for me.
Using physics: F=ma The plunger will pop out with a good smack on the table. This is rough on the bare/gloved hand and a potential to not hit the follower square. I decided to make a tool with similar function as what Jon Williams and Gary Reider have made in the past.
This is my version and will be making a limited production run that will be very similar.
Cost: $130 plus shipping
