I have decided to give away my 99 LE notch shell. I had intended to do a full restoration but the costs of paint and repair are too high. It is a good serviceable shell for someone interested in rallying or ice racing. It needs the trunk and floor pan patched, as well as the area in front of the front right axle. It was a texas car that sat in the northeast for 15 years so it has very little structural rust. The body panels are all in good shape, and repainting that should be pretty simple.
Pick up in Tuxedo NY.

I don't think he's giving up on a 99 project, just this one...

Re: FREE: 74 99 Shell
I'm looking for a cleaner shell. I'm moving to NY, getting married, etc and a $15k restoration project is out of the question. There are many good shells around that i can just plop a motor into and call it a day. This is a good shell for rallying, and I will bet its better than any of the cars in Argyle - so if anyone wants to stop by they are very welcome to!

Re: FREE: 74 99 Shell
Unfortunately it will go to the scrapper in the next few 1-2weeks if nobody takes it.
The worst of the rust repair is in front of the passenger side axle hole in the unibody. Impossible spot to get a welder into, so you'll have to cut the whole lot area out, patch and reweld. Also has rust on the right structural member that runs longitudinally across the right side of the engine bay. Its the one that the battery holder is welded to.
The exterior is good, and the inner fenders are really clean because they had undercoating in them. Same thing with the outer fenders - no rust. This would be a great race car for somebody to just patch the trunk with a flat piece of steel. Really hope someone takes it.
Also have a few other things i'm looking to sell. 16V 88 engine with all the 900 wiring still attached. Also have a 4 spoke saab catalog steering wheel, various 8v b motor heads and a bunch of other 900 parts that might be useful to someone.

Re: FREE: 74 99 Shell
I'd possibly be intererested in that rear spoiler if you junk it. If it's in good shape.
You should consider cutting the vin plates and ID numbers out of it if you have a clean title on it. Save them... you may find a clean car without a title.
Hopefully you plan to save all the good stuff off it.
