"never trust a junkie"
:P

Sucks for sure .. this is why I don't generally deal long-distance with any sort of purchases, unless from a long-time board member.
Learned that lesson when I was about 10, trading Magic The Gathering cards via dial-up internet..
Though in the Saab community, you'd expect a better result than, say the JDM / VW crowd..

Best way to resolve these sorts of things, though, is extrajudicially, via road-justice. Saab-Mob unite!

I just received this email from PayPal:

"We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your
favor.

We were able to recover $330.00 USD and this amount has been credited to
you. Please allow five business days for this adjustment to be posted.

If you are due any additional funds, we will make our best effort to
recover the balance from the seller.

If the seller's account has insufficient funds to complete the refund owed
to you, please be assured that we will take appropriate action against the
seller's account, which may include limitation of the seller's account
privileges."

Moral of the story: don't buy stuff from people who might be sketchy asshole junkies, but if you do, use PayPal. :P

I kind of which the photo album associated with that ad worked. I'm curious to see what's really there. I wouldn't deal with him!
He seems to have a pretty optimistic parts listing. "high performance weber carb and manifold setup for a V4 motor" cross-flow manifold? o_O
Wasn't he claiming to have a bunch of 99s last time?
The kind of dirty that doesn't wash off :eyebrows:

He had 99s, and a couple of 96s. He told me he had 80-100 wheels in a pile. sent me a bunch of pics back when he originally surfaced, before he got caught literally holding the bag. The stuff in the pics looked good .I I'd really like for it to be legit, with less of a douche peddling the scam.

Seems to me someone he knows has all that stuff. He just pretends it's his to trick people into giving up their dough.

Yeah, after all when he was picked up by the police with heroin and a large sum of cash, he was driving an unregistered/uninsured Saab 900!

Maybe the father is selling the parts now and he's legit?

Anyone into these that long ago to have collected them and saved them is probably cool, it's the progeny who sounds like the douchebag and maybe he's now out of the picture, hopefully in the hoosegow?

Is anyone close enough to do a recon? I'd love a good mid '60s 96 grille and front panel if there is one, but too far to drive & check it out... but happy to pay someone here a pickup or finder fee!
