I've been running some 3/4 spent Hakka 10s on the front and some almost illegal Hakka Qs on the rear of the 2dr. I'll be switching to some 1/4 worn out Hakka Qs later...
I put a set of new studded Nordman 2s (almost the same as Hakka 2s) on Kelly's 9-3. I like.

I bought some new studded 2's this year as well. I saw some 4's and 5's which had square or diamond shaped studs but the distributer didn't have them in a 185/65/15. I'm happy with the 2's anyway, got to be the best street legal snow and ice tire I've ever had.
One of Chris' old lady customers has a nearly new set of Blizzak WS-50's all mounted and balanced that she only wants $100 for. She bought a new car and doesn't need these so I guess I'll put them on the 97 turbo, can't beat the price.

The guy we got the Nordman 2s from told me you can get the Hakka 1s under the Hankook brand. But the 2s are so much more fun. I was thinking those Hankooks looked like the RSi tires.
He said they could also get either the 4s or 5s (I forget which) in a 185/65/15 (this was about a month ago) but the price was about $580 studded for a set vs. about $425 for the studded 2s (including mounting, balancing, and valve stems).
The 9-3 came with a set of almost new Blizzak WS-50s. They were decent for the first winter - not as good as Hakkas. By the second winter they were just a normal snow tire. They also had a weird wear pattern. The center of the tire was all caved in, it wasn't really that the tire wore funny but that the center sort of gave way...

I got some used Dunlop's for my Viggen.
DS-2 I think they are.. Should provide decent dry/wet traction and get me through the couple of days of ice/snow. I always find that hardcore ice/snow tires wear too fast for the amount of actual really bad weather I get. Not to mention the almost dangerous dry handling. If I lived in VT,NH or Maine, it might be a different story.

I just bought some Graspic DS-2s. They were relatively inexpensive and apparently nearly as good as Blizzaks. Here in Seattle, it rains in the winter so, hopefully, they will do well in the wet.
The funny thing about Seattle and snow tires is that the vast majority of the time, you only need them to get in and out of the ski area parking lot.

Its been snowing here pretty much non stop since Sunday. When I came to work this morning we had several inches.....it snowed lightly all day so I am not sure where we are at now.
The Hakka studded 2's work very well on my 98 900. I went out and played on my favorite rally road the other day and they were very good. The car is no where near as good in the snow as my old 900 but the old 900 had no sway bars and it had the rally springs so that was a key setup difference.
