Re: 1990 Tally Red SPG

Very nice car Luke, very nice. Not that it really matters, but what's the mileage? I think your price is fair considering it has a newly rebuild gear box and what other SPGs are currently going for (I think others are terribly overpriced because after all they're just 900s with some plastic cladding...

Re: Trionic (T5) Harnesses for C900

I noticed that on one of the harnesses I took apart..a really strange one on the rear o2 wire like you said. I do a rear 02 sensor delete anyway and I didn't notice any of the grounds in poor shape though so far. Those are only used as a reference for the 02s and maybe the map sensor? ... I think t...

Re: Trionic (T5) Harnesses for C900

Nice job. I like your approach of different cable colors, gauge sizes, proper shrink tubing etc. This is good craftsmanship and will pay off as you should never get stranded on the side of the road due to bad connections or other electrical issues. I also like that you tried to make it plug & pl...

Re: WTB - some 99 parts

It was either squaab99t or 99super that was making them IIRC. they are the sport and rally type. Dennis aka squaab99t made molds for rally flares and made quite a few for a couple of people here. Here is a link from a few years back http://saabrally.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=949&hilit...

Re: Buffalo grey interior 1990 SPG

I can confirm that a lot of a 88 turbos didnt have the passive belts. There are 3 88 SPG's within a few miles of my house, two are original manual belted, one is a passive belt (mine). I did the retrofit easily to manual belts and used seats out of a '91 SPG which were in better condition and they ...

Re: Buffalo grey interior 1990 SPG

Ha ha - so true! Those look very nice. Stephan -- those front seats won't go into a passive-belted (88-89) or 91-93 hatchback unless you weld in the mounting system from a donor car that had the old-style mounts, which your new seats have. (Let's call them "early and 90" seats.) Or perhap...

Re: Hey All

Welcome to the forum Matt. I see you have been browsing for a while. You have some pretty nice cars and I like your daily driver. Where in Alberta do you live, Calgary area, Edmonton area? I know Alberta, especially Calgary, pretty well. I've lived there for a while during my engineering internship ...

Re: Buffalo grey interior 1990 SPG

I received my buffalo grey interior today for less than $300 :yay: . It came from a guy named Greg who I actually know from the local Saab Club and SC. What a funny coincident. He delivered the interior very appropriately in a black '90 SPG (his winter driver :-O ). While looking into his trunk I ju...

Re: Shifting Problems - Late 5-speed GM 457 14

As far as the Castrol 10-40 is concerned. I wouldn't use it if it has the "sunburst logo" on it. The "sunburst logo" states "for gasoline engines" and indicates that the oil has friction modifiers in it. Friction modifiers make things slippery and this type of oil can ...

Re: Shifting Problems - Late 5-speed GM 457 14

Or you could run mt-90 and be done with it. That's right. Looking at the viscosity range of shockproof and MLT, and the mixing ranges given, you might end up with a viscosity range very close to MT-90. ...but on the other hand she ain't broke so why mess with it? At that kind of mileage it might be...

Re: 1986 SPG

I saw a silver 86ish 900 Aero in Sweden at the 2007 Saab Festival that had the full red dash, it wasnt leather but it was so cool looking, I'll look for my pictures. I'd love to have one but I'm sure it's absurdly hard to find. I've seen some vinyl paints that could work but I'm weary to give it a ...

Re: Shifting Problems - Late 5-speed GM 457 14

is your front motor mount in good condition? I think mine is OK as well but I'll check later today. I'm a bit suspicious about the left motor mount though. I have one of those sandwich plates installed at the oil filter in order to have a place to put the oil pressure- and oil temperature sensor. W...
